Coronavirus: Troops sent to New York
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has reported a one-mile (1.6km) coronavirus “regulation zone” around a network north of New York City.
New Rochelle has seen “most likely the biggest group” of US cases, Mr. Cuomo said at a news meeting on Tuesday.
The state will send National Guard troops to clean schools in the city and convey nourishment to any isolated people.
New York state has 173 dynamic coronavirus cases, the most in the US.
Of these cases, 108 are in Westchester County, where New Rochelle is found. New York City, which is situated around 25 miles (40km) south of New Rochelle, has 36 affirmed instances of the infection in its populace of 8,000,000 individuals.
Mr Cuomo said there will no movement limitations in the little city, however enormous gathering focuses in the zone will be shut.
Schools, gathering spots and organizations in the infection problem area will be shut for about fourteen days.
There were 791 affirmed instances of coronavirus in the US as of Tuesday evening, as per Johns Hopkins University in Maryland, which is following the flare-up.
